On Thursday, Poway took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 73-45 victory over Spring Valley. The victory was all the more spectacular given Poway's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 115th in California, while Spring Valley is ranked 30th in Nevada).
Poway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Johnson out in front who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Ari Mason, who scored 21 points.
Poway is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Spring Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
