Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Poly walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hueneme Vikings  a   7-0 shutout  on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Poly got a great performance from  Danny Bedford as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Bedford has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate, Poly let  Lucas Burton and  Mayan De Nava run wild. Burton  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run, while  De Nava  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  runs  De Nava has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Adrian Islas, who  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Poly pushed their record up to 15-11 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for Hueneme, their loss  ended  a  ten-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 18-9.
 Looking ahead, Poly will head out to  face off against Long Beach Poly  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Jackrabbits' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Hueneme does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
