Heritage had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-4-1 to make it four. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kaelynn Sweger put in work no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Izabella Sewell and Baylie Arrington stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sewell went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double, while Arrington went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Reilley Jorge, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Heritage, Central Fellowship Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Ella Huddleston. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Huddleston was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
Huddleston wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lydi Simmons, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Simmons a new career-high. Maloreigh Land also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Looking ahead, Heritage will host St. Anne-Pacelli at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Lake Oconee Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
