The Breckenridge Buckaroos''s 8-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against Jim Ned on Friday, falling 42-14. Breckenridge has struggled against Jim Ned recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Although Breckenridge took the loss, they still got scores from Braye Cantrell and Jaime Cruz.
Jim Ned's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dean Guffey led the charge by throwing for 109 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Shipman, who rushed for 208 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Breckenridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Jim Ned, their win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Breckenridge will take on Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowie is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Jim Ned, they will head out on the road to face off against Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vernon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
