The Cornerstone Christian Cougars have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 62-46 to Pleasant Valley.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Christian still got an impressive performance from Mecca Alexander, who scored 22 points. That was a full 47.8% of Cornerstone Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Bertand, who scored seven points.
Cornerstone Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Cornerstone Christian will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against California Crosspoint at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. California Crosspoint will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1080th, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 177th). Pleasant Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Shasta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Friday.
