Meanwhile, Bernstein's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollywood.
Bernstein's defeat came about despite a quality game from Odali Rivera, who scored 30 points. That was a full 60% of Bernstein's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gisele Lusk, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mendez and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Bernstein, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 13-7.
