The William Allen Canaries's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Pocono Mountain East 56-52. While losing is never fun, William Allen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while Pocono Mountain East is ranked 67th).
Pocono Mountain East got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taemus Jones out in front who scored 23 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Pocono Mountain East's points. Aiden Pierre was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
William Allen's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Pocono Mountain East, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
William Allen will be home for the holidays to greet Nazareth Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pocono Mountain East, they will head out on the road to face off against East Stroudsburg South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
