The North Valley Christian Academy Lions can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Mayer 50-19 at home. The win was just what North Valley Christian Academy needed coming off of a 58-28 loss in their prior matchup.
North Valley Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Kalina Santor, who scored 20 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Santor has scored all season. Triniti Terracciano was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight steals.
Despite the loss, Mayer still got an impressive performance from Danni McCann, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That was a full 63.2% of Mayer's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mayer struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
North Valley Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Mayer, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9-1 record this season.
North Valley Christian Academy and Antelope will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Antelope comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Mayer won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Pasqual Valley at 4:30 p.m. on January 12th.
