On Tuesday, the Questa Wildcats's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Des Moines with points to spare, taking the game 59-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Questa also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2014.
Questa found their leader in underclassman Alyse Lovato, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lovato has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Cardenas, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Questa is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Des Moines, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Questa will head out on the road to square off against Penasco at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Penasco is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season. Des Moines will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Springer at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Springer is ranked 67th, while Des Moines is ranked 87th).
