Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ripon Christian). Everything went their way against the Sonora Wildcats on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-6 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won six games in a row.
Trenton Cloward made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with four runs and three RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ripon Christian let Noah DeBruyn and Talen Tameling run wild. DeBruyn got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Tameling went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
