The Berkeley Yellowjackets will challenge the Foothill Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkeley is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
While Berkeley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over El Cerrito on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Yellowjackets have won by just one run.

Enrique Sotelo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Isaiah Mays was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ethan Walker, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Foothill never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over James Logan. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.
Foothill also got a great performance from Ryan Cooney as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cooney also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Falcons are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on RJ Manicki, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Eli Davidson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Berkeley's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Foothill, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Berkeley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Berkeley might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Foothill when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Yellowjackets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
