After both having extra time off, the Tennyson Lancers and Leadership will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
On December 8th, Tennyson came up short against Oakland Military Institute and fell 28-16.
Meanwhile, Leadership came tearing into December 14th's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Golden State Prep as Leadership made off with a 47-22 victory. The result was nothing new for Leadership, who have now won four matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Leadership relied on the efforts of Hannah Tagaga, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Natalia Diaz, who scored 28 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Diaz has scored at least 25% of Leadership's points.
Tennyson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Leadership, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Everything came up roses for Tennyson against Leadership in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 as the squad secured a 57-28 victory. Does Tennyson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leadership turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
