The Kennedy Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 46-29 fall against East Bakersfield. Kennedy was down 39-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Kennedy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Valeria Payan-Medina, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. Another player making a difference was Imaree Curry, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Kennedy has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for East Bakersfield, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will challenge McFarland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Bakersfield on the road again on Tuesday and play against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Tehachapi will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
