Northampton County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Rocky Mount Prep 56-15 at home. With that win, Northampton County brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Michaela Hodge was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kashanti Parker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Northwest Halifax put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 60-18 victory over Southeast Halifax. With Northwest Halifax ahead 39-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Northwest Halifax's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camaya Adkins, who scored 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Adkins has scored at least 25% of Northwest Halifax's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyara Rook, who scored 15 points.
Their wins bumped Northampton County to 3-1 and Rocky Mount Prep to 1-2.
Northampton County came up short against Northwest Halifax when the teams last played back in February, falling 63-57. Thankfully for Northampton County, Jayden Lynch (who scored 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
