Baseball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Sherman Oaks CES won against Fulton on April 9th with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Northridge Academy Pumas. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Nicholas Bilicic made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sherman Oaks CES let Matthew Perez and Colin Hauser run wild. Perez went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hauser went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Hauser has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Steinbach, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Sherman Oaks CES' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Northridge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Sherman Oaks CES will head out to square off against Arleta at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northridge Academy, they will welcome East Valley at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
