The Indian Springs COYOTES fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Grand Terrace Titans on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. Indian Springs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Jayleen Barajas was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven steals for Grand Terrace. The contest was Barajas' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mikhia Anderson, who scored 16 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
Indian Springs' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Grand Terrace, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Springs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Ramona at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ramona has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 6. Grand Terrace won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Colton at 1:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Colton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 660th, while Grand Terrace is ranked 320th).
