Lindsay is 2-8 against Strathmore since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lindsay Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Strathmore Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Lindsay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Orange Cove at home to the tune of 59-13. Given Lindsay's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 626th, while Orange Cove is ranked 1269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Melanie Navarro, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Ayon, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Strathmore can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They really took it to Farmersville for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-23 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Strathmore has posted against Farmersville since January 31, 2019.
Lindsay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Strathmore, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Lindsay didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Strathmore in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 37-33 win. Does Lindsay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Strathmore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
