Baseball Recap: Paramount Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

While Paramount put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Firebaugh. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Falcons. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Paramount got a great performance from Fabricio Aguilar as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Aguilar a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Zack Moreno was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Luis Banuelos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

Paramount always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Firebaugh only posted an OBP of .200.

Paramount is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Firebaugh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Paramount will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
