The Fillmore Flashes will face off against the Channel Islands Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Channel Islands took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fillmore, who comes in off a win.
Fillmore is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Santa Clara get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Flashes in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won eight in a row.
Ivan Contreras and Thomas Alamillo made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Contreras pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Alamillo tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Contreras has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Contreras earned two runs and one stolen base, while Alamillo got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Those two runs gave Contreras a new career-high.

In other batting news, Fillmore got a massive performance out of Johan Reyes, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Reyes a new career-high. JJ Jasso was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and four runs.
Fillmore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Channel Islands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against Foothill Tech, falling 8-1.
Channel Islands saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raul Arredando, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Channel Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Fillmore, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-11.
Fillmore couldn't quite get it done against Channel Islands when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Flashes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
