The Williams Valley Vikings kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-28 to Upper Dauphin Area. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williams Valley in their matchups with Upper Dauphin Area: they've now lost three in a row.
Upper Dauphin Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracie Griffiths, who scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Wentzel, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Williams Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Upper Dauphin Area, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Williams Valley will head out on the road to face off against Halifax at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they will be playing at home against Mount Carmel at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
