On Thursday, South Fork didn't have too much trouble with Hamilton on the road as they won 57-43. Given South Fork's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Hamilton is ranked 1054th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hamilton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kayden Strong, who scored 16 points. The match was Strong's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Caden Stickney was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
South Fork has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
South Fork won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chester on December 29th. Hamilton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maxwell at 8:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Maxwell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Hamilton likes a good challenge.
