Roosevelt is 1-6 against Madera South since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rough Riders will welcome the Stallions at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Roosevelt needed a bit of extra time to put away Sunnyside. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rough Riders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Brian Roberson was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Roosevelt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Manny Molano, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madera South). They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Kings Christian on Monday. The Stallions not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 8-1).
Jeremiah Montes was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Moles, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Chris Huerta was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 13-10-1. As for Madera South, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-19-1.
