Brooke Point is on a four-game streak of home losses, St. Mary's Ryken a five-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Having just played yesterday, the Brooke Point Black Hawks will get right back to it and host the St. Mary's Ryken Knights at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Brooke Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 235th in Virginia, while St. Mary's Ryken is ranked 70th in Maryland).
Brooke Point scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Osbourn Park for the full four quarters, racking up a 103-28 victory on the road. That 103-28 margin sets a new team best for Brooke Point this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brooke Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Seth Sanusi, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. That's the first time this season that Sanusi scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Apietu, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's Ryken came up short against Archbishop Rummel on Wednesday and fell 58-50.
Brooke Point's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
