It was a good run, but Canyon unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 9-6 to the Torrance Tartars. One positive for the Comanches, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Chip Mertz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Torrance, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon will welcome Yorba Linda at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Torrance, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mira Costa at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Mira Costa 1.6, Torrance 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
