Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Falls Short Against Ranked Mater Dei

Mountain View is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Mater Dei. The Toros fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 2-1. The Toros' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Mountain View saw an underclassman step up: freshman Paxon Boynton had six digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Boynton.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6-1. As for Mater Dei, their win bumped their record up to 19-12-3.

Mountain View has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Williams Field on the 11th. As for Mater Dei, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Chandler on the 11th.
