The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Lehighton Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Tamaqua focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
Tamaqua can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match. They blew past Tri-Valley, posting a 55-23 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Tamaqua has posted since December 9, 2023.
Tamaqua got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauren Ligenza out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Plasha, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lehighton at home against Jim Thorpe on Thursday as the team secured a 51-19 win.
The victory makes it two in a row for Tamaqua and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for Lehighton, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Tamaqua came out on top in a nail-biter against Lehighton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 33-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tamaqua since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
