The Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 38-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stone Ridge Christian. Aspire Langston Hughes Academy lost against Stone Ridge Christian in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 34-5 score last time.
Stone Ridge Christian was led to victory by Cali Cole and Bella Ewing. Cole scored 12 points, while Ewing scored 17 points.
Aspire Langston Hughes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Stone Ridge Christian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Aspire Langston Hughes Academy will square off against St. Bernard's at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Ceres at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
