Colton is 1-9 against Grand Terrace since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Colton Yellowjackets will face off against the Grand Terrace Titans at 7:00 p.m. Colton is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Colton had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over the Golden Eagles.
Grand Terrace proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 58) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Carpinteria and snuck past 39-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grand Terrace.
Grand Terrace can attribute much of their success to Mikhia Anderson, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Jayleen Barajas, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Grand Terrace's points.
Colton is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Grand Terrace, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.
Colton won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2023, slipping by Grand Terrace 53-52. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Grand Terrace's Mikayla Doud, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds.
