The Classical Academy Caimans will head out to challenge the Bishop's Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Classical Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Classical Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over Santa Fe Christian.
Jax Strand tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Benny Nance and Rocco Albao did most of the damage at the plate: Nance went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Albao went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two hits gave Albao a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Travis Perry, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bishop's came up short against La Jolla Country Day on Saturday and fell 5-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bishop's also got a good showing from Ian Shin, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The Knights are 3-1 when Shin allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Dane Larson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Bishop's, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Classical Academy couldn't quite finish off Bishop's in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 8-6. Can the Caimans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
