Baseball Recap: Corcoran Has No Trouble Against Orange Cove

Corcoran hadn't beaten Orange Cove on the road since March 27, 2024 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Titans 10-2. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

Corcoran let Cruz Portillo and Elijah Muthana run wild. Portillo went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Muthana got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Tony Alvarez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Corcoran and bumps their season record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Orange Cove, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Corcoran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Coalinga on the 16th. As for Orange Cove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 loss against Farmersville on the 16th.
