The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Tamaqua Blue Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Shenandoah Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to Columbia Montour Vo-Tech for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-7 win on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-2.
Meanwhile, Tamaqua beat Catasauqua 44-36 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tamaqua.
Tamaqua's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Hope, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorelei Plasha, who scored 10 points.
Shenandoah Valley's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Tamaqua, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Shenandoah Valley came up short against Tamaqua when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 57-46. Can Shenandoah Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
