Baseball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Comes Up Short

If Academy for Academic Excellence was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Norton Science & Language Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Noah Knecht made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Academy for Academic Excellence dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy, their record is now 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Academic Excellence will venture away from home to challenge Lucerne Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Silver Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
