Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Channel Islands' Fourth in Last Five Outings

Channel Islands had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Carpinteria on Friday. The Raiders never let the Warriors get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Wednesday.

Steven Pena made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Channel Islands is 9-4 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Pena was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
