Highland and Independence are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2021, but not for long. Meanwhile, Independence lost to Bakersfield Christian at home by a decisive 58-40 margin on Wednesday. Independence has struggled against Bakersfield Christian recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Highland dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Highland was taken down by Independence 63-25 when the teams last played on January 10th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Independence's Kaylynn Bolden, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. Now that Highland knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
