The Orland Trojans will head out to square off against the Hamilton Braves at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Orland will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Orland barely beat Corning the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Roy Alexander made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Orland got a big performance out of Garin Mcnary, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Mcnary a new career-high in RBI (two). Luke Schager also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Hamilton entered their contest against Plumas Charter last Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Braves came up short against the Warriors, falling 15-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered since May 10, 2024.
Hayden Boles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Orland's record is now 8-6. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Orland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Orland's way against Hamilton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Orland made off with a 17-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
