Baseball Recap: Saint Viator Extends Winning Streak to Four

Saint Viator waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners with a sharp 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Frank Clary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tanner Beyna, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Tommy Beyna was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Saint Viator kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Saint Viator's record now sits at 19-7-1. As for Nazareth Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-8.

Saint Viator will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Roadrunners: the pair will be back at it again later today.
