Baseball Recap: Acalanes Comes Up Short

Acalanes blew Piedmont out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Piedmont got their revenge. The Acalanes Dons fell just short of the Piedmont Highlanders by a score of 7-5. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Keegan Goddard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Tyler Winkles, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Piedmont, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Acalanes will square off against St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piedmont, they will face off against Albany at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
