The Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 56-45 to Newton Local. Mississinawa Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Newton Local apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Mississinawa Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aron Hunt. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Hunt also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Gower, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Mississinawa Valley bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Newton Local, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
