South East has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  square off against the Katella Knights at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Tuesday, South East narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past Garfield  7-5.
  David Valenzuela spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and four unearned) runs on six hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Xavier Velasco, who  went 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  doubles. Another player making a difference was  Christian Sanchez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Katella scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Godinez Fundamental with a sharp  10-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Katella considering their one-run performance the  game before.
 Katella also got a great performance from  Anthony Garcia as he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched.  Danny Viera came in to relieve  Garcia and was airtight, giving up no runs, hits or walks in his 1.2  innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Kevin Reyes was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.  Alejandro Tinoco was another key contributor,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 South East's record now sits at 2-7. As for Katella, their win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-8.
