The Beverly Hills Normans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Imperial, falling 48-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Beverly Hills has suffered since December 1, 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Beverly Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Leila Abrishami. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Nayeli Cardona was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals for Imperial. That makes it six consecutive games in which Cardona has scored at least a third of Imperial's points. Clare Davila was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Beverly Hills' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Imperial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beverly Hills will face off against Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1057th, while Beverly Hills is ranked 469th). Imperial will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Calexico at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
