On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brawley beat Chula Vista 42-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Brawley.
Leading Brawley to victory were Luciana Munguia and Breanna Montano. Munguia scored 14 points, while Montano scored 18 points.
Chula Vista's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malissa Mckoy, who scored 15 points. The match was Mckoy's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ta'Mya Lewis, who scored 13 points.
Brawley now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Chula Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-5.
Brawley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Desert Christian Academy at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Desert Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Brawley's offense will have their work cut out for Brawley. Chula Vista won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on December 23rd.
