The Leuzinger Olympians's road trip will continue as they head out to face the San Dimas Saints at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. Leuzinger knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully San Dimas likes a good challenge.
Leuzinger has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Beaumont 68-45. Given Leuzinger's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Beaumont is ranked 333rd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leuzinger relied on the efforts of Leah Sarabia, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists, and Madison Watts, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. The matchup was Watts' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dresha Moore, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, San Dimas came up short against Lake Washington on Thursday and fell 54-47. San Dimas has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leuzinger has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for San Dimas, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
