The Port Allegany Gators won the last time they faced the Northern Potter Panthers, and things went their way on Monday too. Port Allegany walked away with a 42-32 win over Northern Potter.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Port Allegany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayleigha Dowell, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Moses, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Port Allegany's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Northern Potter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Port Allegany will be home for the holidays to greet Oswayo Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oswayo Valley's defense has only allowed 26.4 points per game this season, so Port Allegany's offense will have their work cut out for Port Allegany. Northern Potter will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Williamson at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th.
