After losing to the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers the last time they met, the Exeter Monarchs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Exeter came out on top against Central Valley Christian by a score of 54-44 on Tuesday.
Exeter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natasha Anguiano out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Dias, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Hiemstra, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Kate Verhoeven was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Exeter's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Central Valley Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Exeter will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Reedley at 6:30 p.m. As for Central Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Washington Union at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
