The Hueneme Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Fillmore Flashes at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hueneme will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
On Friday, Hueneme got the win against Nordhoff by a conclusive 15-7. Considering the Vikings have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rey Bibiano made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

03/28/25 vs Malibu | 2 |
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allan Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cristian Solis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Hueneme kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Fillmore was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Malibu, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flashes.
Thomas Alamillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Fillmore's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 5-2 (and 4-11 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Fillmore's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Miguel Rincon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Rincon has become a key player for the Flashes: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-13 otherwise. Joseph Alamillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Hueneme's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Fillmore, their record now sits at 9-13.
Fillmore's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hueneme hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Fillmore, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Hueneme's hitters?
Hueneme was able to grind out a solid victory over Fillmore when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Flashes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
