After a string of three wins, Bodine's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. Their rough 50-29 defeat to Masterman might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Bodine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the are ranked 95th).
Masterman was led to victory by Sophia Brunelli and Jocelyn Goldstein. Brunelli scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals, while Goldstein scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Goldstein has scored at least a third of Masterman's points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Sollie, who scored six points.
Bodine's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Masterman, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Bodine will take on the Colonials at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Masterman, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
