The Plattsmouth Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Conestoga Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Plattsmouth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Plattsmouth ended up a good deal behind Glenwood and lost 41-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Plattsmouth has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Aimee Dasher, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Chloe Adkins, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Conestoga lost to Fort Calhoun on the road by a decisive 57-40 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, Conestoga can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Fort Calhoun is ranked 63rd).
Plattsmouth has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Conestoga, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Plattsmouth came up short against Conestoga when the teams last played back in February, falling 52-39. Can Plattsmouth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
