Baseball Recap: Dougherty Has No Trouble Against Bainbridge

Dougherty made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bainbridge, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Dougherty Trojans' way against the Bainbridge Bearcats on Tuesday as the Dougherty Trojans made off with a 17-8 victory. Considering the Trojans have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dougherty let Dashaun Robinson and Courtney Love run wild. Robinson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Love scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. What's more, Robinson posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Kitchens, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Dougherty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Dougherty's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-2. As for Bainbridge, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-8-1.

Dougherty will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bainbridge: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
