College Prep hasn't had much luck against Head-Royce recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. College Prep will face off against Head-Royce at 4:00 p.m. College Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

College Prep was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Athenian 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted against the Owls since April 26, 2023.

The team relied heavily on Liev Melamed, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Eleck Fa was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Head-Royce suffered their closest loss since April 8, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of University by a score of 5-3. The matchup marked the Jayhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Head-Royce saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kento Tsuji, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Judah Forst also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Head-Royce and nudges their season record down to 3-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

College Prep might still be hurting after the 14-3 loss they got from Head-Royce when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can College Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
