The Oak Ridge Trojans's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 55-42 win over Vista del Lago. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Oak Ridge considering their 20-point performance the contest before.
When it comes to explaining why Vista del Lago lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ella Skrzyniarz. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Skrzyniarz is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ursula Chen, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Oak Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Vista del Lago, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Ridge on the road again on Friday and play against Whitney at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Whitney will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Vista del Lago, they will head out on the road to face off against Sacramento at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sacramento will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Vista del Lago is ranked 129th).
